How do I join MoneyLion Checking / Core membership?

Opening a Zero-Fee Checking account with MoneyLion helps you maximize every dollar, and it's easy to do via the MoneyLion app or website (moneylion.com).

When you open a MoneyLion Checking account, you'll also open a MoneyLion Investment account (a fully managed account with no minimums, no requirement to invest, and no trading or management fees). The two accounts come together as part of the MoneyLion Core membership.

In this FAQ, we'll walk you opening your accounts in the app. The process is similar on our website -- just create an account and go to the Finances tab to begin. 

The requirements to open a Core membership are:

  1. You must be a permanent US Resident
  2. A valid social security number
  3. A valid residential address (no P.O. boxes)
  4. A verified mobile phone number
  5. Up to date public records

Enrollment Process:

Step 1 - Begin the enrollment process from your log in card carousal or from the finances tab:

Step 2 - You will then be taken through screens to provide your citizenship status, address, and your mobile phone number:

Step 3 - Once you provide you're mobile phone number we'll text you a verification code via SMS that you'll use to continue with enrollment:

Step 4 - Now you'll answer questions that'll help us determine your investment experience and the best investment strategy for you. There are no wrong answers here, what is important is that you are honest with your answers:

Step 5 - With this information we'll then put together a summary of your planned portfolio and the strategy we'll take:

Step 6 - Next we collect your social security number and have you confirm your information:

Step 7 - Next you'll read and sign the legal agreements for MoneyLion investment and checking:

Step 8 - As your last step, we will ask you some out of wallet questions to complete your identity verification. These questions are generated from comparing the information you provided during enrollment to public records:

Step 9 - Please give the app a few moments to confirm your information and account:

Step 10 - Once the app has confirmed you'll information you'll see this confirmation page containing information regarding where your checking account's debit card will be shipped.
